Overview:

The level 2 Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship is a 12 month programme that has been designed for individuals who are at the start of their career or who wish to take their first steps into the childcare sector. It  is also suitable for those who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of childcare.

 

The Benefits:

As childcare is a demanding and growing profession, it is important to have skilled staff with good
qualifications and experience. Apprentices can be trained to suit your requirements, address skills gaps
and have a positive impact on the organisation by potentially raising the standards of all staff through
identification of training needs in the workplace. Apprentices provide an opportunity to grow and
develop internal talent embedding the organisation’s values and ethos.


Both existing and new staff can become apprentices, allowing them to receive nationally recognised
qualifications within childcare. Apprentices feel valued within the business which can improve staff
retention and is a great way to attract/develop new talent into your business.


Apprentices are given the opportunities to use new skills they have learnt to support and develop
young children through interactions during play. Staff are supported to provide an enriching learning
experience that promotes the areas of learning and development within the EYFS.

 

How to Apply:

If you are an employer

If you’re an employer, you can start Apprenticeships at any time of the year, provided your staff meet the entry requirements. 

  • If an your annual bill is over £3 million, you can begin set up through the Apprenticeship Service.
  • If an your annual pay bill is under £3 million, you can set up payment below.
