How can you maximise your levy spend?

Apprenticeships can help employers tackle skill shortages 

The introduction of the apprenticeship levy means that employers can use the funds in their Apprenticeship Service account to purchase apprenticeship training and assessment, this can be used for existing staff and recruited apprentices.

To maximise your spend, have you considered:

  • Upskilling exisitng staff including your senior management team
  • Recruiting apprentices
  • Integrating the apprenticeships as part of internal professional development programmes (CPD)

Give your team new skills and energy

 We will:

  • Support you to upskill your existing staff and recruit new talent into your organisation, keeping you informed at every stage
  • Work in partnership with you to devise an apprenticeship strategy, including planning, costings and tailoring provision to meet your business needs;
  • Assign you an account manager to talk you through the process every step of the way
  • Providing the latest updates of government policy that may affect your organisation

Incentives

Learning can be done in the workplace, minimising distruption.

In order to support employers to engage with apprenticeship training, the government has developed a number of incentives:

  • £1000 incentive payment for every 16-18 year old. This is paid in two instalments at the 3rd and 12th month of the apprenticeship programme. 
  • Employing an apprentice under the age of 25? You may no longer have to pay employer Class 1 National Insurance contributions on their earnings up to the new Apprenticeship Upper Secondary Threshold.
  • The government will apply a 10% top-up to monthly funds entering levy-paying employers’ digital accounts, for apprenticeship training in England.
